Advantages and disadvantages of reciprocating pump (piston pump)
Reciprocating pump is a kind of positive displacement pump, which depends on the reciprocating movement of the piston in the pump cylinder to change the working volume, so as to achieve the purpose of conveying liquid. The piston type is taken as an example to illustrate the working principle of the reciprocating pump. The piston pump mainly uses the piston to make reciprocating motion in the pump cylinder to suck in and remove liquid. When the piston starts to move from the extreme left end to the right, the volume of the working chamber gradually expands, and the pressure in the chamber decreases. The fluid pushes open the water suction valve and enters the space made by the piston until the piston moves to the extreme right end. This process is the water suction process of the pump. When the piston moves from the right end to the left end, the fluid filled with the pump is squeezed, the suction valve is closed, and the water pressure valve is opened to discharge. This process is called the water pressure process of the pump. The piston is constantly reciprocating, and the process of water suction and pressure of the pump is continuously alternating. The characteristics of this pump are that the pump pressure can be infinitely high, the flow has nothing to do with the pressure, it has self-priming capacity, and the flow is uneven. This pump is applicable to the infusion system with small flow and high pressure.
